The Jawaharlal Nehru Botanical Garden was established in 1987. This garden has a large collection of ornamental plants and oak varieties. The colourful array of flowers, the majestic mountains and hills, and the pleasant Dal Lake makes an enthralling view to see. The garden is divided into largely four sections: The Recreational Garden, Botanical Garden, Plant Introduction Center, and Research Section.
This beautiful spot that sprawls in an 80 hectare area with a rare collection of Kashmir's Tropical Plants gives the tourists an extraordinary view to relish.
DAL LAKE Srinagar's Jewel or the Lake of flowers is a feast for the eyes surrounded by tall mountains, lush greenery, lined by the beautiful Mughal Gardens on its shores and houseboats and Kashmiri Shikaras. Another fascinating feature of the Dal Lake is the floating markets, where you can see farmers and vendors sell their produce in shikaras at the crack of dawn. Very soon , as the morning sunlight spreads its glorious beams on Dal Lake the vendors and farmers retire to their homes and the Lake is back to its peaceful, pristine self. Nothing like a joyous ride on a shikara. A visit to Kashmir is incomplete without a stay in a houseboat. A house with 5 to 6 rooms inside a boat, is where comfort and luxury hold hands since it comes at a cost you can afford. Allow yourself to be pampered whilst being nourished by tranquil sights.
